Many metal sheets are laminated for various reasons and it is often wondered whether fiber laser cutters can be used to process these coated metal products. In reality, it isn't difficult for laser cutters to process the coated metal material. Conventionally, in order to avoid damaging the film, we will cut the side with the film first and the other side later. It is because the cutting slag will be stuck to the film because of the heat causing a rough surface and the slag is difficult to handle if the side with film is on the back of the material and can be cut later.
On the other hand, pneumatic actuators are better to be equipped on the downward side to avoid damaging the sheet material by machine supporting parts.
In the end, we will give some suggestions of the setting parameters. For example, the height of the laser head is 10mm and the power value is around 300W. Then doing the operation of membrane burning to remove the film in the path, and then you can run the machine to cut.
